With all the hoopla and controversy surrounding smokeless cigarettes, new scientific research is suggesting that they are likely to be much less harmful than the conventional cigarettes. We know for a fact the statistics prove that conventional cigarettes can attribute to cancer, lung problems and overall general health issues.
Recently, an international team examined 81 studies where they focused on various issues surrounding smokeless cigarettes. Some of the areas that were studied included: Safety concerns; Amount and types of chemicals in the liquids and vapors; Use among both smokers and non-smokers.
After reviewing much of the information, scientists agree that risks to passive bystanders and users are far less than the risks of conventional cigarettes.
They also concluded from the studies that there are fewer toxins in smokeless cigarettes than conventional. Although, they contain some of the toxins from traditional cigarettes, it is at a much lower quantity.
Due to e-cigarette users breathing in vaporized liquid nicotine as opposed to tobacco smoke, scientists believe this is a healthier option.
They also conclude there is no concrete evidence suggesting teens and young adults who use smokeless cigarettes are likely to switch to traditional, and they conclude that the products do not encourage youth to begin conventional smoking habits.
Although, there is much research left to be done, this is good news for the e-cigarette smoker. There still remains much controversy as how to regulate smokeless cigarettes in the U.S. Many scientists conclude that based on their studies, smokeless cigarettes are indeed a healthier option.
